York Tennis Club 24-Hour Marathon

We are very excited to announce our 24-hour tennis marathon! Over a guaranteed sunny weekend in August, we'll be playing through day & night to raise funds for two very worthy local charities: Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Dementia Forward.

The event will kick off at 2pm on Saturday, August 10th and run non-stop until 2pm, Sunday August 11th.

The main event will be a 24-hour non-stop doubles match between two everchanging teams, which anyone can sign up for and take part in. We’ll have themed time slots that range from Pimms o' Clock to Glow in the Dark Tennis to Wimbledon and Hotdogs & Hotdogs!

We’ll have food and drink on offer for the full 24-hours, available down by the courts in exchange for donations to our charities.

We’ll also be running a raffle, with plenty of prizes up for grabs. And last but not least, there will be two mini events across the weekend alongside the 24-hour match, including:

Retro Rackets: A nostalgic tournament with wooden rackets and old-school balls – what could go wrong?!

The first ever YTC Davis Cup! A mini team tournament open to all.

🎾 Monthly American Doubles Tournament 🌟

On the 1st Saturday of every month we host an American Doubles Tournament in place of the usual 1pm Club Play. In this format, players are not fixed to one partner for the entire tournament. Instead, you’ll play several short matches, partnering with and against different players in each round. The players with the most games in the bank at the end of the session will be the winners!
