Adult Programme

Our development plan for adult tennis is much the same as for junior tennis with the aim being to progressing as many people as possible who take up coaching at the club into club adult play and then onto adult teams and onwards and upwards from there.

Beginner / Intermediate Tennis classes Class

Rusty Rackets – Thursday 2pm to 3pm

Start Tennis – Friday 6pm to 8pm 

The Start Tennis class is ‘pay and play’ and runs over two consecutive one hour sessions. It is £5 per hour for York Tennis Club members and £6 per hour for non-club members. There is no need to book, but if you are coming for the first time, please contact Bradley Austin on 07842194343 to let him know so that you can be notified in the unlikely event that the class does not run.

Intermediate Doubles Tennis – Saturday 10am to 11am (10:30am to 11:30am during winter)

The Doubles Tennis class is aimed at intermediate players looking to improve their doubles play. The session is pay and play and £5 for members, £6 for non-members. If you are attending for the first time please contact Bradley Austin, details above.

Specialist Courses

In addition to weekly classes we also offer specialized courses in the following areas of the game.

  1. Advanced Technique Video Analysis Course ‘The Pro 10 Course’. This course features video analysis from Brad Langeva, Australian Biomechanist (Consultant to Andy Murray, coach to Pat Cash and many others), many years of reaseach have gone into constant refinement of the content and shape of the course and is a must for any tennis player wanting to take their game to the next level. For more information and to book, click here

  1. Singles Tactics Course. This course utilises stats and facts from Craig O’Shaunessey ATP and WTA ststistical analyst on the most effective tactics used in singles. Video Analysis Workshops – These focus on specific shots and give players split screen video analysis feedback to see how their technique can be improved. Guaranteed to improve your technique.
